Agile transformation: consulting and support

A team works in sprints and still waits six weeks for a sign-off: the method has arrived, but the way decisions get made has stayed the same. That is why an engagement does not start with a target operating model but with what actually happens today: where work waits, who decides, what gets measured.

01 — What it covers

Agile transformation consulting

The engagement has three parts.

Assessment and roadmap

It starts with how work is done today. That leads to a clear roadmap.

Introducing Scrum, Kanban or a hybrid model

Which one fits is decided by the assessment, not by a prior commitment to a framework.

Change management

New roles and meetings do not change how decisions get made. That is why the engagement covers how decisions are made, not just the introduction of the method.

02 — In practice

City of Hannover, Fire Department

Agile team workshop · Facilitation · Coaching

Three-day workshop for an initiative that had no place in day-to-day operations — too big for a card, too long-range for a single week. Outcome: a shared foundation to work from and a fixed weekly rhythm the team now keeps up on its own.

Team coaching

Long-term support for your agile teams on the work that is already in their backlog, in the project rather than a seminar room. This covers sprint reviews and retrospectives as well as stakeholder communication.

Team licences for the course "Mastering Agile Project Management"

The course exercises are assessed, not just ticked off. Conversation practice with Kai is included, for example with a sponsor who wants date and scope fixed at the same time. Learning progress is visible to the manager, not across the team: no leaderboard, no comparison between individuals.

06 — Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

How does an engagement start?

With a conversation about what prompted the enquiry — not about a framework. That conversation leads to a proposal covering scope, approach and price. If it emerges that training will not solve the problem, the proposal says so.

How long does an engagement last?

That depends on the initiative and is set out in the proposal. It ends once the team can manage without it.

What is the difference between a workshop, training and consulting?

A workshop settles an open question within a few days. Training builds capability across several sessions. Consulting supports delivery over a longer period.

On site or online, and in which language?

Workshops run on site or online; coaching is mostly remote, so it sits within day-to-day work rather than alongside it. German and English are both available.

What does it cost?

It is priced per engagement, and the price is set out in the proposal, together with scope and approach.

Which framework do you recommend?

That is not settled at the start. Introducing a framework before it is clear which problem it should solve produces new rituals and the same results.

What happens after the workshop?

With a team licence, participants can keep practising afterwards at their own pace. On its own, a single session rarely carries over into day-to-day work.

Start with what prompted the enquiry. You will receive a proposal covering scope, approach and price, and if training will not solve the problem, the proposal says so. I usually reply within one working day.
